Following an earlier update on SEAP’s Annual review, here’s a link to a film explaining ‘What is Advocacy?’, from all perspectives. The client’s ‘voice’ tells a powerful story.

“The organisation SEAP asked us to make a film to help people better understand their advocacy service, and how it may be able to help people. SEAP provide independent advocacy services to help resolve issues or concerns you may have about your health and well-being, or your health and social care services.

SEAP Advocacy is able to support the most vulnerable people in society, including those that do not have the capacity to instruct SEAP and people from marginalised communities who struggle to have their views and wishes listened to and heard.”

EFQM 3 Stars Recognition of Excellence

EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management)

 

All week SEAP has been undergoing an assessment for our quality mark from EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management).

We have heard today that we have achieved the 3-Star ‘Recognised for Excellence’ Award. This is a fantastic testimony to everyone’s hard work and is vital for evidencing the quality of our organisation to clients and funders.

The Assessors were extremely impressed with SEAP, particularly since we have gone through so much change over the past few years. They are confident the processes we now have in place will deliver a 4-Star rating at the next Assessment, when we will have gathered the necessary long term results data they will be looking for. The strengths they particularly mentioned in the assessment meeting were:

 * People – the culture, skills, team working and genuine commitment of everyone they  met
* Client Focus – listening, caring, tailored delivery of service
* Partnership Working – local knowledge and relationships are mature and ‘ego-free’ and staff are happy to act as SEAP ambassadors

We are all agreed these are our top priorities.
